*** *** *** READ ME FILE *** *** *** for Star Track Software ~ Swarovski Crystal Edition PREMIUM Package DEMO **************************************************** NOTE that the following information applies to the DEMO version for Users of MICROSOFT ACCESS 2000 ONLY. If Access 2000 is NOT currently installed on your computer, this DEMO will NOT work! (But you can download a different DEMO from the website that does not require Access 2000 to run.) **************************************************** The Minimum System Requirements for running this DEMO are the same as those for running Microsoft Access 2000. The application and data files require an extra 9 MB of free space on your hard drive. To run this DEMO Version of the software, please follow these instructions: 1) Download the "STSPDemo.exe" file to your computer. This file contains 7 compressed application files, along with a utility function that will uncompress them for you. 2) Run the "STSPDemo.exe" file. To do this you can: a) Open "My Computer", find this downloaded file, and double-click on it. -OR- b) Click "Start", then "Run", and type or use the "Browse" button to input the path to and file name of this downloaded file. 3) The "WinZip Self-Extractor" screen will appear. A default path is shown in the "Unzip to Folder" box: "C:\Program Files\STCrystl\DEMO". You can accept this, and the application files will be extracted there, or you can type in the path to another folder of your choice. (The folder does not have to exist already; it will be created if needed.) 4) Click the "Unzip" button. You should see a message box that reads "7 file(s) unzipped successfully". Click "Close". 5) To run the application, open the unzipped file called "STCrystl.mde" using Microsoft Access 2000. You are entitled to 10 uses of the DEMO before it will not run again. Although only a small subset of the data is included with the DEMO, all the functionality of the PREMIUM Package is available. You can even VIEW IMAGES by clicking the "Display" box on several screens. **NOTE** If the installed program will not run on an older system because files are missing, view the folder containing the application files and look for two files with a “~”. Rename the larger one “SwarImgs2.mdb” and the smaller one “SwarImgs3.mdb”. 6) A Help File is provided with the DEMO, to assist you in running the software. To access Help you can: a) From the "Help" Menu at the top of the screen, select "Star Track Software Help". b) Click the toolbar button with the question mark located at the top of the screen. c) Click the button with the question mark and "Help" label, located in the lower right-hand part of most input screens. d) Hit the "F1" key. e) Read the popup tips that appear near most input boxes and the status bar at the bottom of the screen. ********************************************************* We hope you enjoy using this DEMO and find the software very worthwhile for organizing your Swarovski collection!
